Slow Movement and Tai Chi
Gentle, flowing movements inspired by Tai Chi that encourage mobility, coordination, and body awareness, without the intensity of conventional exercise or the need to memorise traditional forms.
Qigong, Breathing and Relaxation
Simple practices that combine gentle movement, natural breathing, and focused attention to quiet the mind, release tension, and cultivate a sense of calm.
Energy and Restoration
A quiet, restorative practice inspired by ancient Taoist traditions, using attention and intention to cultivate inner balance, vitality, and renewal.
Together, these elements create a gentle, guided experience that brings movement, breathing, and focused attention into a natural flow. No previous experience is needed, simply follow the guidance and practise at your own pace.
The Garden of Tao is for people who want to feel better without pushing themselves harder.
It is particularly suited to those who:
Want to relax and step away from everyday stress.
Feel physically stiff or want to maintain gentle mobility.
Prefer slow, mindful movement to intense exercise.
Are curious about Tai Chi and Qigong but do not want to learn complex forms.
Want to develop a simple, sustainable practice for body and mind.
You do not need to be fit, flexible or experienced. You simply need to be willing to slow down and give yourself the time.
Our approach combines the gentle movement of Tai Chi, the breathing and flowing exercises of Qigong, and restorative practices inspired by Taoist traditions.
The emphasis is on simplicity, personal guidance, and adapting each session to the people taking part.
Rather than focusing on mastering a technique, we focus on the experience itself: moving gently, letting go of unnecessary tension, and developing a more balanced relationship with body and mind.
You don't need to know Tai Chi. You don't need to prepare. And you don't need to achieve anything.
Just come as you are.
We’re getting ready to welcome you.
The Garden of Tao is taking shape. Our first space is on its way, and we look forward to sharing it with you.
